Context Menu for patient grid in client/patient screen
The PATIENT CONTEXT MENU will handle many tasks, most of them for a specific
patient. If the task is for a specific patient the menu is opened by
right clicking on that patient, otherwise it is opened by right clicking
anywhere in the patient grid. The PRINT, SEARCH, and REMOVE PHOTO
options open submenus. Each option performs as follows:
● The PRINT option opens a submenu with the
following six options:
■ The PRINT FORM button opens a list of forms designed
and maintained by the clinic where a form can be selected
and printed. Examples of the forms might be SURGICAL
RELEASE, EUTHANASIA RELEASE, HEALTH CERTIFICATE,
etc. The forms can be designed with "merge" fields for the
patient's name, date of birth, rabies vaccination due date,
etc. Client information can also be merged. This means that
when the form is printed it is complete with specific
information making it for the selected client and patient.
■ The DUPLICATE RABIES CERTIFICATE option prints a copy
of the most recent rabies certificate for the patient selected.
■ The WORK SHEET option prints a sheet with client and
patient information and a check list of services/products for
the species being serviced. This option is only used if the
clinic does not have work stations in the exam rooms. It is
generally given to a technician to enter the services and
products invoiced and related information after service is complete.
■ The FILE LABEL option prints a label with the
appropriate patient information to be useful for labeling a file folder,
etc.
■ The PATIENT LABEL option prints a label of patient
information which can be used for a folder or for other uses.
■ The WORD FORM option opens a word processor which
contains forms in the microsoft word format. Forms generated in
the PRINT FORM option above can be automatically converted or
generated for use in this word processor. It can import and
use other forms using the word format such as the LIFE LEARN
forms many clinics use as handouts.
● The CHANGE OWNER option allows the selected patient to be assigned
to a different client. The medical records, reminder history and
status, and other patient related information stays with the patient.
The invoice history stays with the prior client.
● The CITY TAG INFORMATION option displays (and allows the editing of)
the city, cit tag number, and effective date.
● The PATIENT CODE option is another location for managing the selected
patient's color code.
● The UPDATE PATIENT STATUS opens a window where the patient's status
can be viewed or updated. The options are ACTIVE, INACTIVE, or
DECEASED. This effects whether the patient is available for inclusion
in reminder mailers, target marketing, etc.
● The SEARCH option opens a submenu which allows for a patient search
with RABIES TAG NUMBER, MICROCHIP NUMBER, TATTOO, CITY TAG NUMBER, or
PATIENT NUMBER.
● The ASSIGN PHOTO option opens a pick list of photos downloaded from
the camera such that the correct photo can be assigned to the selected
patient.
● The REMOVE PHOTO has a submenu which allows the removal of the
patient's currently assigned photo and DELETION OF THE PHOTO or MOVING IT
BACK TO THE PICK LIST FOR REASSIGNMENT.
● The DICTIONARY option opens a list of clinic managed terms and their
definitions available to the staff to assist in phone communication with
clients.
● The RESET RABIES REMINDER TO 3 YEARS option resets the one or two
years rabies reminder of the selected patient to three years.
● The PRINT MAILING LABEL prints a mailing label to the patient in
care of the client.
● The COMBINE RECORDS OF TWO PATIENTS option permits the combining of
two patient's records in cases where a patient may have been entered twice
and where each entry has activity.
● The PATIENT INFORMATION opens a window displaying information in the
file of the selected patient.
